Battle Plan: Anxiety

Introduction:
Anxiety can feel like a storm raging inside you, but you are not alone. Assemblies of God believes in the power of God's peace to calm our anxious hearts and minds. Let's explore how you can find peace and overcome anxiety, guided by the wisdom of the Bible.

Understanding Anxiety:
Anxiety can make you feel worried, restless, or even overwhelmed. It might seem like your mind is racing with thoughts that you can't control. But remember, anxiety is a common struggle that many people face, and it's okay to reach out for help.

God's Promise of Peace:
In times of anxiety, God offers us His peace. In Philippians 4:6-7, it says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This means that when you feel anxious, God's peace can calm your heart and mind, even when you don't understand why you're feeling anxious.

Trusting God's Provision:
God promises to take care of us, even in the midst of anxiety. In Matthew 6:25-26, Jesus says, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” This reminds us that God knows our needs and will provide for us, so we don't need to worry.

Finding Strength in God's Word:
Reading the Bible can bring us comfort and strength in times of anxiety. In Isaiah 41:10, it says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” When we feel anxious, we can turn to God's word for encouragement and assurance that He is with us.

Prayer:
A Source of Comfort: Prayer is a powerful way to connect with God and find peace in the midst of anxiety. In 1 Peter 5:7, it says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” When we pray, we can share our worries and fears with God and trust that He hears us and cares for us deeply.

Seeking Support:
Don't be afraid to reach out for help when you're feeling anxious. Talk to someone you trust, like a parent, teacher, or pastor, about what you're going through. Assemblies of God churches often have caring pastors and counselors who are ready to listen and offer guidance.

Choosing Faith Over Fear:
In moments of anxiety, it's important to choose faith over fear. In Joshua 1:9, it says, “This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Even when we feel afraid, we can trust that God is with us and will give us the strength we need to overcome our anxiety.

Conclusion:
Anxiety can feel overwhelming, but you are not alone. Assemblies of God believes in the power of God's peace to calm our anxious hearts and minds. Remember, God is with you every step of the way, ready to comfort, strengthen, and guide you. Keep holding on to faith, and know that brighter days are ahead.
